While I much preferred Dr. Berlin's Chan books, Ken Hanke wrote a nice Chan book as well and contributed commentary to the Chan DVDs. I was surprised he was only 61; much too soon to pass away.

And another terrible loss. My very first Chan book was Hanke's. There are not too many of us left.

His contribution to our knowledge of the history of Charlie Chan was invaluable. May he rest in everlasting peace. :(
