Title: Charlie Chan at Monte Carlo
Post by: John Cucinotta on August 25, 2018, 08:54:58 am
Tonight I'll watch this movie, as I do every year on this date.  Early in the film, while entering the casino, Lee explains to Charlie that he will be betting on #25 on the roulette wheel, since he is 25 years old and it is the 25th of August.  I don't remember any other Chan film where a specific date is part of the dialogue.  Does anyone recall another film where the date is mentioned?

Interesting.  I usually pop one in the player Saturday morning, but just choose it at random, depending on my mood.  Like if I'm a Torso Murders kind of mood, it's Shadows Over Chinatown. :D

This is the only movie that I watch on a particular date, and it's only because Lee Chan mentions that it is August 25th early in the film.  Otherwise, I have no particular order to watching movies, and I occasionally watch a Chan film or other old mystery movie on any day.

Every 4 years I pop in CC at the Olympics, for my own opening ceremonies. Layne Tom was so funny in this film. I wish they had used him more often. ...Ed K.
