Title: CHARLIE CHAN'S SECRET
Post by: rodb on February 18, 2015, 12:52:22 pm
i really like this movie: but the plots loose ends always seem to bother me. For 1; We learn that there was two attempts on Alan Colby's life, but he was near Hawaii, while the suspects were in San Francisco. For 2:  the boat goes down and he is the only person not accounted for but, somehow he manages to get back to the estate in a timely manner. I wish they would of somehow pieced togather the plot instead of us having to use our own imagination.

I agree that you have found two loopholes in the plot.  I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I think there is a scene where Chan is concerned that Alan Colby may have been rescued at sea by a ship without a radio, and hence he could arrive unannounced on the mainland.
